Rap duo name generator for you and your partner

Every act needs something to shout before the first verse. The generator above gives you a stack of candidates in a second: crew names built from an adjective and a noun, pairs that belong together, and, when you add your first names, nicknames, a blend of both names and your initials worked into a tag. Everything runs in your browser, so there is no form to submit and no account to open.

Where most name tools stop at a list, this page keeps going. Once a name sticks, the studio underneath turns the two of you into that act: add a photo of each person, mention the name in the topic, and the AI writes an original rap about it and renders both of you performing it.

No first names to hand? Start from these. We invented every one of them for this page; they are free to use as a starting point, but check a name before you build on it (see below).

• Easy to say on the mic. Two or three syllables per word, nothing a crowd would stumble over when it chants it back.
• A story inside. A shared joke, a place or an origin makes people ask where the name came from, and that question is half the fun.
• Room for both people. The best duo names feel like a team, not one star with a sidekick, unless that contrast is the whole point.
• Searchable. A name that brings up a dozen existing artists will be hard to find, which is why the next step matters.

The generator does not search existing artists or trademarks, so a quick check is on you before a name goes on a poster or a release:

1. Search the name on the big streaming services and on video platforms. If another act already uses it, pick a different one.
2. Look for the handle on the social networks you plan to post on, and for a matching web address if you want one.
3. For anything commercial, search your country's trademark office (in the US, the USPTO; in the EU, the EUIPO) and get proper advice if a close match turns up.
4. Say it out loud to someone new and ask them to spell it back to you.

The pairs that lasted chose their names in very different ways. Eric B. & Rakim simply joined their stage names, Gang Starr and Black Star picked an image, UGK went for three letters, and Kris Kross turned two first names into a rhyme. Our guide to the best rap duos ever has more of them, and the story of Quavo and Takeoff as Unc & Phew shows how a family nickname can become the brand. Short on bars to go with the name? The funny rap lyrics collection shows how a single joke becomes a verse.
